NHS Voices of Covid-19

With the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020, NHS at 70 refocused its work to capture personal testimonies around Covid-19. It gained additional funding of £1 million in July 2020 from the UKRI Covid-19 Urgency Call through the Arts and Humanities Research Council to work in partnership with the British Library.

The aim of the NHS Voices of Covid-19 project was to create a national collection of personal testimonies and in-depth reflections around Covid-19 as a permanent public resource for informing policy and practice.

In partnership with the British Library, we were able to provide a permanent home for the entire collection of personal testimonies, including those collected through the NHS at 70 stream of work.

Covid Voices: a moment in time (2022) is a short film commissioned from Inner Eye Productions by NHS Voices of COVID-19. The film highlights personal stories from the NHS Voices of Covid-19 collection of personal testimony and encourages us all to reflect on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on our lives.

As part of our programme of activity, the British Library developed a Covid Stories resource which drew from the personal testimony we had collected.
