Tony Redmond

Tony Redmond, born in Manchester in 1951, studied medicine at the University of Manchester in the 1970s. He specialised in emergency medicine and during the 1980s set up the South Manchester Accident Rescue Team to support local rescue and ambulance services. This later developed into UK-Med which now coordinates teams of volunteers to support trauma, medical and public health emergencies across the world. A Professor Emeritus of International Emergency Medicine, Tony is a world expert in international emergency humanitarian assistance, supporting major incidents and complex health emergencies.
